Viewing Cut Sets or Path Sets for a Block Diagram
Cut sets or path sets, which are described in Cut Sets and Path Sets, can be calculated by selecting either Calculate cut sets or Calculate path (tie) sets on the General page under RBD in the Calculate window prior to running RBD calculations. For more information, see General Page.
At any given time, you can have results calculated for cut sets or path sets, but not for both. Once cut sets or path sets are calculated for the active diagram, you can view them.
1. If the RBD Diagram pane is not active, click in this pane to activate it.
2. Select RBD > View Cut Sets or RBD > View Path Sets, depending on which has been calculated.
If neither cut sets nor path sets have been calculated, neither command is available.
The Cut Sets window opens, showing the cut sets for the active diagram. The Unavailability column displays the unavailability of the cut set. Subsequent columns display the unique identifiers of the blocks in the cut set.
The Path Sets window shows the path sets for the active diagram. The Availability columns in the Path Sets window displays the availability of the path set. Subsequent columns display the unique identifiers of the blocks in the path set.
At the bottom of the Path Sets window are Excel and Print buttons, which you can use to save table results to a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or to print them to a printer. For more information, see Excel and Print Buttons.
3. When finished viewing cut set or path set information, click Close.
