RBD Custom Graphs
In addition to generating supplied RBD graphs, you can use the Graph Wizard to generate several types of custom RBD graphs. The procedure for generating all of these custom graphs is basically the same. After RBD calculations have been run, you start the Graph Wizard and indicate the results to graph.
1. Select Tools > Graph Wizard. The Graph Wizard starts and displays the Load Graph Template page.
2. Select Create a custom graph and click Next. If the Select Module page appears, select RBD and click Next. The RBD Graph Type page appears.
*
All RBD graphs are based on properties specified under RBD in the Calculate window. For more information, see RBD Calculation Properties.
3. Select the type of graph to generate:
Diagram calculation results by time point. When selected, graphs system-level calculation results for one or more diagrams by the number of data points specified in the RBD calculation properties.
Block calculation results by time point. When selected, graphs calculation results for blocks in the current diagram by the number of data points specified in the RBD calculation properties.
Display time results by block. When selected, graphs calculation results for blocks in the current diagram at the display time specified in the RBD calculation properties.
Cost analysis. When selected, graphs calculation results for various costs at the display time specified in the RBD calculation properties. For cost results to exist, under RBD > General in the Calculate window, the Cost checkbox must have been selected the last time RBD calculations were run. For more information, see General Page.
4. Click Next. The page that appears next depends on the graph type selected.
If Cost analysis is selected, the RBD Cost Analysis page appears. Go to step 5.
If any other option is selected, the Select Calculation page appears. Go to step 6.
5. If the RBD Cost Analysis page appears, do the following:
a. Select the checkboxes for the cost results to graph. All checkboxes are selected by default. If you clear all checkboxes, the Next button becomes unavailable.
b. Click Next. The Graph Options page appears so that you can specify how the graph is to look.
For a Cost Analysis graph, the only option you can specify is the graph title. A Cost Analysis graph is a stacked bar graph where x-axis values are time points and y-axis values are cost results. Each cost result that you select for analysis is a data series.
c. Complete the Graph Options page and the remaining pages to generate the graph. For more information, see Specifying Graph Options.
6. If the Select Calculation page appears, do the following:
a. For Data field, select the result to graph. The choices available depend on the graph type.
b. Click Next. The Graph Options page appears so that you can specify how the graph is to look.
7. Complete the Graph Options page and the remaining pages to generate the graph. For more information, see Specifying Graph Options.
Once the pages of the Graph Wizard are completed, one or more Select windows can appear. Depending on the graph selected, these windows require you to select one or more diagrams and/or blocks. After you select the appropriate diagram or block and click OK, the graph is generated.
When a graph for multiple diagrams is generated, a data series exist for the specified calculation for each diagram selected. If a System file is already open, all diagrams in the System file are shown, and the checkbox for the currently selected diagram in this file is selected by default.
The time points for all diagrams you select must match exactly. If they do not, when you click OK to generate the graph, a window opens, indicating that the graph cannot be created. When a cost analysis graph is generated, a data series exists for each RBD cost that has been calculated. These can include labor, miscellaneous, spare usage, spare storage, and downtime costs.
