Highlight Cut Sets or Path Sets for a Block Diagram
Cut sets or path sets, which are described in
Cut Sets and Path Sets, can be calculated by selecting either
Calculate cut sets or
Calculate path (tie) sets on the
General page under
RBD in the
Calculate Properties window prior to running RBD calculations. For more information, see
Calculating RBD Results.
At any given time, you can have results calculated for cut sets or path sets, but not for both. Once cut sets or path sets are calculated for the active diagram, you can highlight them.
1. If the RBD Diagram pane is not active, click in this pane to activate it.
2. Select > or > , depending on which has been calculated.
If neither cut sets nor path sets have been calculated, neither command is available.
The Task List opens. Initially, this auto-hide window is pinned into place. For more information, see
Auto-Hide Windows.
◦ When Highlight Cut Sets is selected, the Cut Set Highlighting window is shown in the Task List. In this window, a field is present for selecting the cut set to highlight in the diagram. In addition to showing the number assigned to the cut set, this field shows its unavailability, which is expressed as Q by default.
◦ When Highlight Path Sets is selected, the Path Set Highlighting window is available in the Task List. In this window, a field is present for selecting the path set to highlight in the diagram. In addition to showing the number assigned to the path set, this field shows its availability, which is expressed as A by default.
3. In the field, select the cut set or path set to highlight.
You can click the Previous and Next commands in the Highlighting window to go to the next or previous cut set or path set for the block.
In the RBD Diagram pane, the blocks in the selected cut set or path set are highlighted.
4. When finished highlighting cut sets or path sets, do one of the following to turn the highlighting off and close the window:
◦ Click the X to close the window.
◦ Select > or > , depending on which has been calculated, to clear the checkmark to the left of the command.
