View PRISM Component List Window
The View PRISM Component List window provides for inserting a PRISM part or software component in the Parts Table. For more information, see Inserting a 217Plus or PRISM Part. The following table describes the options in this window. For more information, see Inserting a 217Plus or PRISM Part.
Option
Description
PRISM category
Lists all PRISM part categories. The selection made in this field determines the choices available in the list for the PRISM subcategory.
PRISM subcategory
Lists the PRISM subcategories. Your PRISM category and subcategory selections determine the choices available for the PRISM part type. If All is selected as the PRISM subcategory (default), all part types for all PRISM subcategories are listed. If a specific PRISM subcategory is selected, only the part types associated with this subcategory are listed.
PRISM part type
Lists the PRISM part types for the selected category/subcategory combination. Based on selections in PRISM fields, the display-only fields below indicate how the PRISM category/subcategory/part type maps to a General category/subcategory/part type.

Some PRISM variable capacitors cannot be mapped to standard variable capacitor subcategories. In these cases, they are mapped to a special General subcategory of Other, Variable. For more information, see 217Plus/PRISM Variable Capacitors.
Category
Indicates the General category to which the selected PRISM part is mapped. This field is display-only.
Subcategory
Indicates the General subcategory to which the selected PRISM part is mapped. This field is display-only.
Part type
Indicates the part type to which the PRISM part is mapped. This field is available only when a part type must be specified in the Prediction Data pane for the part. In cases where this field is shown, it is display-only. For example, if Diode is selected as the PRISM category and Low Frequency, Switching is selected as the PRISM subcategory, Switching appears for Diode Type in the Prediction Data pane. Thus, Switching appears in this part type field.
