Temperature and Vibration Screening Defaults
In the Infant Mortality - Temperature pane, the default for Temperature Screening is No Temperature Screening. In the Infant Mortality - Vibration pane, the default for Vibration Screening is No Vibration Screening. If you do not change these defaults, you can enter data in only three fields:
Field
Infant Mortality Pane
Default
Percent Failures from Temperature Cycling
Temperature
80
Instantaneous Failure Time (months)
Temperature
5
Percent Failures from Vibration
Vibration
20
To change the default values in these fields, you can directly type in other values. However, the sum of the values entered for Percent Failures from Temperature Cycling and Percent Failures from Vibration must always be 100. If you change the value for one of these fields, the value automatically changes for the other field. For example, if you change the value for Percent Failures from Temperature Cycling from 80 to 67, the value for Percent Failures from Vibration automatically changes from 20 to 33.
If you select an option for performing temperature or vibration screening, additional fields become available. Once you provide the necessary information and click OK, the value to use for the Infant Mortality Pi factor multiplier (Pi IM) is calculated. Calculations are based on the type of temperature or vibration screening performed.
