Predecessor Pane
In the Predecessor pane, you supply the parameters required by a 217Plus or PRISM model for performing predecessor analysis on an assembly. Predecessor analysis factors in the field failure rate experience of a predecessor product to better predict the reliability of a “new” product. When you have the 217Plus or PRISM model licensed, you can use predecessor analysis with all but the FIDES, IEC TR 62380, and RDF 2000 models. To use predecessor analysis with another supported model, temporarily switch the model selected in the assembly’s Calculation Data pane to 217Plus or PRISM so that the Predecessor pane is shown. After supplying the parameters required for predecessor analysis in this pane, in the Calculation Data pane, switch back to the original model selection.
