Linking FRACAS Data to a Part
As described in
Parts Linked to FRACAS-Calculated Failure Rates, when the FRACAS module is also in use, you can link the FRACAS-calculated failure rate for the part to use it in the prediction.
1. In the System Tree Items table or Parts Table, select the part to link to a FRACAS-calculated failure rate. This part must be assigned a part classification of General.
2. Select > . The Link Data window opens.
3. For Data Source, select FRACAS. This makes System Tree Item available. If multiple configurations exist, Configuration also becomes available.
|
The labels for table selections use the singular names assigned to tables in the Table Settings pane in the Project Properties window. For more information, see Specifying Table Settings.
|
4. Select the part with the FRACAS-calculated failure rate to link and click OK to create the data link.
The Prediction Data pane for the linked part displays a Linked to FRACAS message and Failure Rate, which is display-only. Once prediction calculations run, the last FRACAS-calculated failure rate for the linked part is shown in this field.
For information about managing data links, see
Data Link How-Tos. Additionally, you can link the failure rate that the FRACAS module has calculated for an assembly to the assembly. For more information, see
Linking FRACAS Data to an Assembly.
