Entering HRD5 GaAs Integrated Circuits
The following table describes the part parameters required for the Gallium Arsenide (GaAs) subcategories of integrated circuits when HRD5 is the selected calculation model. The GaAs subcategories are:
GaAs Digital
GaAs MMIC
Parameter
Type
Description
Type
Choice List
Required only for the GaAs Digital subcategory.
The type of device. Choices are:
Depletion
Enhancement
Quality Level
Choice List
The quality screening level used in the manufacturing of the device. For more information, see HRD5 Quality Levels.
Package Type
Choice List
Indicates how the device is packaged. Choices are:
Fragile
Non-Fragile
Mounting Method
Choice List
Indicates how the device is mounted on the printed circuit board. Choices are:
Through Hole
Surface Mount
Year Produced
Integer
The four-digit year in which the device was manufactured (such as 1998 or 2004).
# of Transistors
Integer
Required only for the GaAs MMIC subcategory.
The number of active transistors in the package. You can determine the transistor count from the logic diagram.
# of Gates
Integer
Required only for the GaAs Digital subcategory.
The number of active gates in the package. You can determine the gate count from the logic diagram. A J-K or R-S flip flop is equivalent to 6 gates when used as part of an LSI circuit. A gate is considered to be any one of the following functions: AND, OR, exclusive OR, NAND, NOR, and inverter. When a logic diagram is not available, use a device transistor count to determine gate count.
