Entering 299C Inductors
The following table describes the part parameters required for inductors when 299C is the selected calculation model. The 299C model supports all three subcategories of inductors.
Parameter
Type
Description
Foreign
Checkbox [Parts Count also]
Indicates whether the device is made in China. If this checkbox is selected, the failure rate of the part is calculated based on Appendix A for the 299C Parts Count or Parts Stress model chosen.
Quality Level
Choice List [Parts Count also]
The appropriate quality screening level of the device. Accepted quality levels and values for inductors follow. For the quality value assigned to a specific inductor, see Chinese Standard GJB/z 299C.
A1 = 0.04
A2 = 0.30 or 0.60
B = 1.00
B1 = 0.60
B2 = 1.00
C = 3.00 or 3.50
Type
Choice List [Parts Count also]
Not required for the Chip subcategory.
The type of device. Choices vary by subcategory.
Construction Type
Choice List [Parts Count also]
Required only for the Coil subcategory. Not required when Foreign is selected.
The type of coil construction. Choices are:
Fixed
Variable
Rated Temperature
Choice List
Not required for the Chip subcategory. Also not required for other subcategories when Foreign is selected.
The rated operation temperature of the device. Many different choices are available, including 90, 105, and more.
Temp Rise to Hot Spot
Real (Degrees C)
The temperature rise from the subassembly to the hot spot temperature.
Hot Spot Temperature
Real (Degrees C)
Generally, this field is left at #.# so that the hot spot temperature is calculated as follows:
Hot Spot Temperature = Subassembly Temperature + Temperature Rise to Hot Spot
If you enter a value for this parameter, this value is used in place of a calculated hot spot temperature.
