Add Defaults Record Window
The Add Defaults Record window provides for inserting a record in the Parts List pane of the Prediction Defaults file. The following table describes the options in this window. For more information, see Inserting a Defaults Record.
Option
Description
Calculation model
The calculation model for which to supply part parameters. The default is MIL-HDBK-217 FN2. The model determines the parameters that appear in the Prediction Data pane.
Part classification
The class of the part. This display-only field indicates that all inserted records are for parts with a General part classification.
Category
The type of the part. The part classification determines the selections available for the category.
Subcategory
The subtype of the part. The category determines the selections available for the subcategory.
Only one record can exist for each category/subcategory/calculation model combination. If, when you click OK to insert the record, the combination that you have selected already exists, a window opens, indicating this. When you click OK to close this window, the Add Defaults Item window opens so that you can make necessary modifications.
