Link to System Tree Items Page
When you select LCC > Link to System Tree Items in the Calculate window, you can select the assembly or part to use for a design alternative when fields from the System Tree Items table are used in LCC equations.
If no prediction data exists in the System file, the Link to System Tree Items page is not shown.
If prediction data does exist in the System file, the Link to System Tree Items page always appears, regardless as to whether or not the Prediction module is in use.
*
The name of this page depends on the singular name specified for the System Tree Items table. Other text and option names depend on either singular or plural names for either this table or the Configurations table. For more information, see Specifying Table Settings.
The following table provides column descriptions. If no data links are set up on this page, then the prediction data field values used in the LCC module are zero.
Column
Description
Alternative
The design alternatives in the LCC Variables file. This column is display-only. In the first row, All Alternatives is shown. When you specify a data link to a system tree item for this row, the values for all alternatives for this item are obtained. However, if you specify a data link for a specific alternative in a subsequent row, the item selected for that row overrides the data link specified for All Alternatives.
Configuration
The configuration from which to select the system tree item. This column is shown only if the Configurations table is turned on in the Table Settings pane in the Project Properties window. For more information, see Table Settings (Project).
System Tree Item
The assembly or part with the prediction data to use in LCC equations. When you click in this column, a drop-down control becomes visible. Clicking this control opens a window in which you can select an assembly or part in the System Tree Items table. Clicking an assembly or part selects it and closes this window. Data values for the selected item are used for fields used in LCC equations. For example, assume that your LCC equations use the following fields: Failure Rate, Predicted; MTBF, Predicted; and Cost. For this item, data values for these fields are obtained and used in the equations.
