Inserting a System File Monitor into an FTA Common Monitors Library File
When you are viewing properties on the Latency page for an SAE event, you can save the properties for a monitor to the FTA Common Library Monitors file to create a common monitor.
1. In the System file, double-click the SAE event in the diagram.
2. On the Latency page, click Create Common Monitor. The Add FTA Common Monitor window opens.
3. For Name, enter the descriptive name to assign to the common monitor.
Code is automatically populated based on the text string you entered. For more information, see Codes.
4. If desired, modify the code.
5. Click OK. The properties assigned to this monitor are assigned to the newly created common monitor inserted into the FTA Common Monitors Library file.
If no FTA Common Monitors Library file is enabled in the Project, one is created in the Project and then the common monitor is inserted into it.
If one FTA Common Monitors Library file is enabled, the common monitor is inserted into this file.
If multiple FTA Common Monitors Library files are enabled, the common monitor is inserted into the first one in the search order for which you have write permissions. For information about setting the search order, see Setting the Search Order for System and Library Files.
The properties assigned to the System file monitor are copied into the record for the new common monitor. In the System file, the properties become display-only because they are now linked to the properties for the common monitor.
If you open the FTA Common Monitors Library file and modify the properties for the common monitor, the display-only properties are updated on the Latency pages for all SAE events to which this monitor is assigned.
