Windchill Risk and Reliability Alert Service
During the installation of the Enterprise Edition, the Windchill Risk and Reliability Alert Service is installed and started so that alerts can be triggered. You turn off this service only in special circumstances, such as if you are moving the Windchill Risk and Reliability database. To turn it off, you use the Windows Control window. In the classic view, click Administrative Tools and then the Services shortcut. Next, right-click Windchill Risk and Reliability Alert Service 12.0 and select Stop. To turn this service back on, you repeat the same procedure, selecting Start.
In addition to running every 60 seconds to send out notification email messages when alert criteria are met, the
Windchill Risk and Reliability Alert Service runs daily at midnight to purge old records from the
History and Error Log panes in the
Alert file. You specify the criteria to use for purging in the properties for the
Alert file. For more information, see
Alert File Properties.
