Windchill Change Object Mapping (Project)
The Windchill Change Object Mapping pane is visible in the Project Properties window for an Enterprise Project only when certain conditions are met. In the desktop version of the Administrator application, Windchill connection settings must be specified. You must also have the Windchill integration license for quality-driven change management and enable at least one Windchill change object. The Windchill Change Object Mapping pane displays mappings of Problems fields to attributes for the selected Windchill change object type.
*
The Windchill Change Object Mapping pane is not shown in the Team Edition because this Edition does not support integration with Windchill.
To map Problems fields to change object attributes:
1. In the left pane of the Project Properties window, select the Project.
2. In the Windchill Change Object Mapping pane, for Change type, select the type of change object for which you want to specify mappings.
Only change objects that are enabled in the Windchill connection settings are available for selection. Change object choices can include: CAPA Request, Change Request, and Problem Report.
The table below Change type has two columns. The name of the first column is always Problem Field. The name of the second column depends on the selection for Change type.
3. To insert a mapping in the table for the selected change type object, do one of the following:
Click < Click here to insert a new record > in the last table row.
Right-click in the pane and select Insert.
The Map Field to Attribute window opens.
4. For Problem field, select the field in the Problems table with the data you want to copy into a Windchill attribute for this change object.
5. In the second field, select the change object attribute into which to copy the data.
6. Click OK. The mapping is inserted in the table.
The Problem Field column shows the display name of the selected Problems field. An icon representing the field type appears to the left of the field name. The second column displays the change object attribute into which to copy the data for this field.
7. Repeat steps 4 through 7 for each mapping to insert for this change object.
*
While a Windchill attribute can have only a single Problems field mapped to it, a Problems field can be mapped to multiple Windchill attributes.
8. Repeat steps 2 through 8 for each additional change object type for which you want to specify mappings.
You can right-click any mapping in the table and select Edit or Delete to modify or remove the mapping.
