One-Level Deep Rule
For all table types but the FMEA Worksheet, you can use the first four aggregate functions described in Field Functions only with tables that are one level below the result table. An example follows:
It is valid to calculate IncidentValue1 = SumField(MaintLogValue1) because the FRACAS Maintenance Logs table is one level below the FRACAS Incidents table.
It is not valid to calculate SystemValue1 = SumField(MaintLogValue1) because the FRACAS Maintenance Logs table is two levels below the FRACAS Incidents table.
The following table shows which tables support the use of these four aggregate functions. Information about how the FMEA Worksheet table is an exception to the one-level deep rule appears in FMEA Worksheet Table Exception. FMEA Tree subtables are available only in the Enterprise Edition.
