When viewing table data, generating reports and graphs, calculating results, and importing and exporting data, you can select a filter from those in enabled Filter files. The filters available for your selection are stored in the three levels of Filter files.

Description
Master Filter file
The Master Filter file is a read-only file populated with commonly used filters. For example, it includes FRACAS filters for selecting only open incidents or only closed incidents as well as Prediction filters for selecting only parts with certain part numbers or reference designators. The filters supplied in the file are available for selection in all System files in all Projects.

In the Supplied folder on the application server, there are subfolders for each supported language. In the folder for your language, a Team Filter file contains dozens of additional FRACAS filters. For example, in the En folder for an English installation, the file named Legacy Windchill Risk and Reliability Filters.RFL contains these filters. If desired, you can copy this file into a Project to overwrite its existing Project Filter file. For more information, see Copying Files from Another Project into the Project Open in the Project Properties Window.
Project Filter File
The Project Filter file is a singular support file, which means only one occurrence of this file type can exist in the Project. This file is created when the Project is created. The filters in it supplement or replace the filters in the Master Filter file. If the Project Filter file contains a filter with the same name as a filter in the Master Filter file, this Project filter overrides the supplied filter. The filters in the Project Filter file are available for selection in all System files in the Project.
My Filter File
Your My Filter file is a local file that stores the filters that you create and save for your own personal needs using the Filter Wizard. Your My Filter file does not belong to any specific Project. If your My Filter file contains a filter with the same name as a filter in the Master Filter file or Project Filter file, this personal filter overrides the supplied or Project filter. When your My Filter file is created, the default name is My Filters.rfl. This file is saved in your computer’s folder for your personal settings. The default path is:
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\PTC\Windchill Risk and Reliability\VERSION
In this path, USERNAME is your Windows user name. You can quickly open your My Filter file when any standard Project is open by clicking My Filter File in the Project Navigator. For more information, see Project Navigator. Personal filters are available for selection only in the desktop application. When applying saved filters, the desktop application only ignores personal filters from different users that are not found in your personal Filter file.
