Creating a Windchill CAPA Request
From a problem, you can create requests for CAPAs (corrective and preventive actions). Once a CAPA reviewer approves the request, it becomes a CAPA and passes through the various workflow states. While CAPA users can create CAPA requests, CAPA guests cannot create CAPA requests.
To create a CAPA request:
1. In the Problems table, select the problem for which you want to create a CAPA request.
2. Right-click the problem and select Create CAPA Request. If account log-in information is requested, supply it. The New CAPA Request window opens.
3. Complete this window. For more information, click the help button in the upper right corner of the window. The “Creating a New CAPA Request” topic in the Windchill Help Center.
If the problem’s associated incidents were tied to parts imported from a Windchill BOM, the original Windchill parts are associated with the new change object as affected items. If any of the affected Windchill parts are end items, they are associated with the new change object as affected end items and listed in the Affected End Items table. End items are top-level items in system trees.
