Alert Types
You can insert many different types of alerts in the Alert file. All of these alert types support the use of filter criteria. The following table describes these alert types.
Alert Type
Description
Count Days
Sends alerts when the interval between two date fields has exceeded the specified number of days. For example, this type of alert can be triggered when the corrective action start date for an open incident has exceeded the planned corrective action date by 25 days. For more information, see Count Days Alerts.
Data Field Check
Sends alerts based on either the number of occurrences or the maximum, minimum, sum, or average value for a selected field. For example, this type of alert can be triggered when the number of open incidents is greater than 25. This type of alert can also be triggered when the average repair time for a failed item is greater than or equal to 30. For more information, see Data Field Check Alerts.
Date Notice (Due)
Sends alerts when the current date is less than a specified number of days away from some selected date. For example, this type of alert can be triggered when the corrective action end date is less than 3 days away from the current date and the incident is not yet marked as closed. For more information, see Date Notice (Due) Alerts.
Date Notice (Overdue)
Sends alerts when the current date is greater by a specified number of days than a selected date. For example, this type of alert can be triggered when the close out date is less than 0 days away and the incident is not yet marked as closed. For more information, see Date Notice (Overdue) Alerts.
FRACAS Incident Count
Sends alerts if a particular record has exceeded the specified incident count. This type of alert is available only if FRACAS Incidents is the table type selected in the Alerts pane. It can be generated per problem, system tree item, configuration, or system tree item and configuration. For example, this type of alert can be triggered when the number of open incidents for any system tree item in any configuration is greater than 25. For more information, see FRACAS Incident Count Alerts.

The name for this alert type depends on the singular name specified for the FRACAS Incidents table. For more information, see Specifying Table Settings.
Match Criteria
Sends alerts when records meet specified criteria. For example, this type of alert can be triggered when the planned corrective action date has passed for an incident that is still open. For more information, see Match Criteria Alerts.
