Silent Full Application Installation on a Client Computer
If desired, you can silently install both the full desktop version and the Administrator application on a client computer.
1. From the application server, copy the file for installing Windchill Risk and Reliability from where you have placed it onto the client computer. The name of this file is WindchllRiskandReliability12.0Enterprise.exe.
The examples in this topic assume that you have copied this file to a folder named Temp on the C:\ drive of the client computer.
2. If desired, to open a window that displays the supported parameters for this silent installation, do the following:
a. Press the Windows icon key ()+R keys. The Run window opens.
b. For Open, type the directory path immediately followed by WindchllRiskandReliability12.0Enterprise.exe /?.
For example, type:
C:\Temp\WindchllRiskandReliability12.0Enterprise.exe /?
c. Click OK or press Enter.
A status message appears, indicating that the Setup program is loading. The help window for this silent installation opens, displaying descriptions of the parameters. For more information, see Parameters for Full Relex Installation on a Client Machine.
d. When finished viewing these parameter descriptions, click OK.
3. To silently install the desktop version and Administrator application, do the following:
a. Press the Windows icon key ()+R keys. The Run window opens.
b. For Open, type the directory path to the file immediately followed by the desired installation command.
For example, to install both, type:
C:\Temp\WindchllRiskandReliability12.0Enterprise.exe /SERVERDIR=\\SERVER_NAME\Windchill Risk and Reliability 12.0/S
If you did not want shortcuts to be created on the client computer, you would type:
C:\Temp\WindchllRiskandReliabilityEnterprise.exe /SERVERDIR=\\SERVER_NAME\Windchill Risk and Reliability 12.0/S /NOSHORTCUTS
c. Click OK or press Enter.
Providing that you have entered a valid command, the indicated applications are silently installed. As indicated earlier, if any errors occur, they are written to the Windows Application Event Log.
