Windchill Risk and Reliability Administrator > Users > User How-Tos > Specifying Password Expiration Settings
Specifying Password Expiration Settings
Under General in the Options window, Passwords expire and Password expiration time (days) specify whether user account passwords expire and the number of days to pass before they expire. These two options apply only to Windchill Risk and Reliability users. They do not apply to LDAP users. For more information, see General User Options.
1. Select Tools > Options to open the Options window.
2. Under General, select Passwords expire. When this checkbox is selected, Windchill Risk and Reliability users are required to change their passwords after the passage of the number of days specified for Password expiration time (days). The default is 30 days.
3. For Password expiration time (days), specify the number of days that can pass before the user must specify a new password.
4. When finished, close the Options window.
If a user’s password expires, he or she cannot log in to a Windchill Risk and Reliability application. In such cases, you must set new passwords and relay them to the user before he or she can log in to Windchill Risk and Reliability once again. For more information, see Setting a User Account Password.
