Plotting Multiple Life Data Sets Simultaneously
To view plots for multiple Weibull life data sets or ALT data sets simultaneously, in the Data sets area of the LDA Navigator, you insert a special data set under the top-level Multiple Data Set Plots folder. After you complete the Plot Options pane for this data set, you can view the one or more plots generated in its Plot pane.
1. In the LDA Navigator, select or insert the data set under the Multiple Data Set Plots folder. For insertion information, see Inserting a Data Set.
For the Weibull module, the Multiple Data Set Plots folder is available when Life Data is selected under Analysis type.
For the ALT module, the Multiple Data Set Plots folder is available when ALT is selected under Analysis type.
2. In the Plot Options pane, under Analysis, select the type of data sets from which to choose.
The selection you make here determines the data sets shown in the Data sets area. For example, when a Weibull life data set is active, selecting Non-Parametric Life Data causes non-parametric life data sets to be shown. When an ALT data set is active, selecting Stress Profile causes stress profiles to be shown.
3. Under Data sets, select the data sets to plot.
You can click Select All or Clear All to select or clear all data sets and then customize your selections from there.
4. For Number of plots, indicate whether you want to generate a single plot or multiple plots. The selection you make affects the options shown.
5. Complete the options, referring to the following topics for descriptions:
6. When finished, in the Weibull or ALT Plot pane, view the one or more plots generated for the chosen data sets.
The data points and lines for each data set are plotted in a different color. Only plots for calculated data sets are shown. For Weibull life data sets and ALT data sets, Auto-Calculate data sets checkboxes control whether calculations run as you enter data and parameter values. For more information, see Data Set Calculations.
