Finding the Best Fit Distribution for a Data Set
For a Weibull parametric life or warranty data set or for an ALT data set, you can perform best fit distribution analysis to find the distribution that best fits your data points.
1. In the LDA Navigator, select the data set.
2. To open the Best Fit Distribution window, do one of the following:
Select LDA > Find Best Fit Distribution.
In the title bar of a Parameters pane, click the last button.

The Best Fit Distribution window opens. For more information, see Best Fit Distribution Analysis.
3. On the Analysis page, select the distributions to include in the analysis. All distributions are selected by default.
You can click Select All or Clear All to select or clear all distributions and then customize your selections from there.
4. Click Analyze. The Analysis page now shows the rankings for the selected distributions.
If a distribution with a better fit is found, in the lower left corner of the page, a message and a Change button are shown. You can view analysis processing results on the Details page.
5. To change to the distribution that has the best fit, on the Analysis page, click Change. This distribution is now selected for the data set.
6. When finished, click Close.
7. If necessary, in the title bar of a Parameters pane, click Calculate to recalculate the data set.
