Weibull Parameters Pane for a Warranty Data Set
When a warranty data set is selected in the LDA Navigator, you supply the basic parameters required for this type of analysis in the Weibull Parameters pane. The following table describes all parameters that can appear in this pane for a warranty data set.
Parameter
Description
Distribution
The distribution to use to model failure times. Choices are Weibull, Lognormal, Normal, Gumbel- (Lower), Gumbel+ (Upper), Exponential, Rayleigh, Gamma, Logistic, and Log-logistic. The default is Weibull. For distribution descriptions, see Failure and Repair Distributions.
Model
The model to use in the analysis. The choices available depend on the distribution selected. For more information, see Models Per Distribution.
Resulting data set
Provides for linking the calculation results for the warranty data set to a parametric life data set. Clicking the browse button for this parameter opens a selection window. For more information, see Resulting Data Sets.
Calculation results
The parameters that can be calculated or specified for each distribution/model combination differ. Calculated results appear in this area only after the data set has been calculated. To use a specific value for a parameter, you select Fixed? and then enter the value. For more information, see Models Per Distribution.
As mentioned earlier, the parameters that appear in the Weibull Advanced Parameters pane for a warranty data set are the same as those for a parametric life data set. For more information, see Weibull Advanced Pane for a Parametric Life Data Set.
