Renewal Percentage
A renewal percentage indicates how close a component is to brand new after it is repaired. When you click the browse button for Restoration time, the Distribution window that opens includes an additional field, Renewal percentage.
The renewal percentage can be any value from 0 to 100. The default is 100, which assumes perfect repair. This means that the repaired component is as good as a new component. If this assumption is false, you can enter a different value. To indicate minimal repair, you enter a 0. This means that the component is repaired, but that its condition is not improved.
For example, if you replaced small components such as nuts and bolts to rectify the failure, this repair does not reduce the chance of the component failing again. Thus, to indicate that minimal repair was done, you enter 0 as the renewal percentage.
