Reliability With Repair
When Account for repair in reliability is selected, the effects of repairs are considered when calculating reliability. Depending upon the situation, reliability is calculated using either an analytical method or simulation.
The simulation procedure to compute reliability with repair is complex. The basic procedure is similar to the simulation of availability calculations. System status flags are used to identify whether the system has reached a failed state at least once.
The count for the number of successful operations of a system is updated only if the system has not failed before the time of interest. Reliability with repair is then calculated by dividing the count of the number of successful operations by the total number of simulation runs. A similar procedure is used to calculate block level reliability when considering repairs.
