Block Text Box Fields
The following table describes the fields that can be shown in the text box for a block. These fields either display properties from the block’s Calculation Properties window or calculation results once RBD calculations run. For more information, see Block Calculation Properties.

For an independent block, the name specified on the General page in the Calculation Properties window. For a linked block, the name of the linked item.
Availability
A
The availability of the block based on results from the most recent RBD calculation.
Capacity
Capacity
The percent of capacity that the block contributes to the operation of the system. This value is specified on the General page in the Calculation Properties window.
Component Identifier
Component
The identifier assigned to the block to identify it in different phases of a phase diagram. Phase diagrams are described in Phase Diagrams. This identifier is applicable only when phase calculations run. For more information, see Component Identifiers.

For an independent block, the description specified on the General page in the Calculation Properties window. For a linked block, the description of the linked item.
Duration
Duration
The amount of time that the system operates in the given phase. A duration value is assigned only to phases in phase diagrams.
Expected failures
Exp Fail
For an independent block, this is the failure rate or MTBF (mean time between failures) specified for the block on the Failure page in its Calculation Properties window. For a data-linked block, this is the failure rate for the linked item.
Failure properties
FR, or MTBF
The FR (failure rate), MTBF (mean time to failure or mean time between failure, depending on whether the block is repairable).
Identifier
Identifier
The unique identifier assigned to the block. This identifier appears for Identifier in the RBD Blocks table or on the General page in the block’s Calculation Properties window.
Mean availability
Mean Avail
The average availability of the block at each time interval.
Mean capacity
Mean Capacity
The average capacity of the system during each time interval.
Part number
PN
For an independent block, the part number entered on the General page in the Calculation Properties window. For a block linked to an assembly or part in the System Tree Items table or Parts Table, the part number assigned to the linked assembly or part.
Quantity
Qty
The quantity entered on the Redundancy page on the block’s Calculation Properties window to indicate the number of units present in the system (online).
Quantity required
Qty Req
The quantity entered on the Redundancy page in the block’s Calculation Properties window to indicate the number of units required for system operation.
Reference designator
Ref Des
For an independent block, the reference designator entered on the General page on its Calculation Properties window. For a block data linked to an assembly or part in the System Tree Items table or Parts Table, the value shown is the reference designator for the linked assembly or part.
Reliability
R
The reliability calculated for the block.
Repair properties
MCT
For an independent block, the MCT (mean corrective time) specified on the Failure page in its Calculation Properties window. For a data-linked block, the MTTR (mean time to repair) of the item to which it is linked.
Total downtime
DownTime
The cumulative downtime expected during each time interval.
Unavailability
Q
The unavailability calculated for the block.
Unreliability
F
The unreliability calculated for the block.
Wait time – labor
Wait Time-Labor
The total expected waiting time for the repair resource to arrive and perform maintenance during each time interval.
Wait time – spares
Wait Time-Spares
The total expected waiting time to receive spares during each time interval.
You can customize the default prompts that appear in front of these fields in the Project’s Data Definition file as described in Customizing a Field Prompt. When RBD Display Labels is the table type selected in the Data Definition file, you can specify a custom prompt for any or all RBD result fields. For example, instead of using Q as the prompt for the Unavailability result, you can type Unavail in its User Prompt column so that this custom prompt is then used for the Unavailability result.
