Process Grade Scoring
In the Prediction Process Grade file, all process grade factors but Infant Mortality (Pi IM) are scored based on weighted responses to answers. In the Process Grade pane, you use Process Grade Type in the upper left corner to select the process grade factor to score.
Only Show Required Questions controls whether all or only required questions appear in the table below. Asterisks (*) follow the question numbers of all required questions. When this checkbox is cleared (default), all questions are shown. When this checkbox is selected, only required questions are shown.
In a newly created Prediction Process Grade file, the default values for process grade factors result in scores that represent average manufacturing processes or conditions. You must select responses for all required questions. If you choose to select responses for non-required questions, your answers to these questions also contribute to the score calculated for the process grade factor. The Response column provides three different response types.
The following table explains these response types and indicates how and when the points noted in the Weight column are added to the Score column. For more information, see Scoring Column Information.
Response Type
Description
Percentage
When a percentage value is entered, the points in the Weight column are multiplied by this value to determine the number of points to add to the Score column. Only one question exists for this response type. It is question 9.2 for the Growth process grade factor (Pi G).
Threshold
When a threshold is selected, a percentage of the points in the Weight column are added to the Score column. Questions with this response type display thresholds in parentheses after the question. For example, if two thresholds are noted (thresholds at 20, 40%), the number of points added to the score is calculated by multiplying the total number of points for the question by 0, 1/3, 2/3, or 1. The multiplier of 0 is used if the question is not answered. The multiplier of 1/3 is used if the selected value is less than the first threshold. The multiplier of 2/3 is used if the value selected is equal to or greater than the first threshold but less than the second threshold. The multiplier of 1 is used if the value selected is equal to or greater than the second threshold.
Yes or No
When Yes is selected, all of the points in the Weight column are added to the Score column. When No is selected, no points are added to the Score column.
