Inserting a Library Part Record
You can insert a part in a Prediction Parts Library file using the Parts List and Prediction Data panes.
1. If the Prediction Parts Library file is not already open, then open it.
2. In the last row in the Parts List pane, click < Click here to insert a new record >.
The Add Library Part window opens. For more information, see Add Library Part Window.
3. Complete this window and click OK to insert the part.
A check is performed to verify that the number that you entered is unique. Inserting two records with the same part number is not permitted.
4. In the various Prediction Parts forms shown, enter part data for this part.
The parameters that appear in the Prediction Data pane depend on the calculation model selected in the properties for the file as well as the part classification, category, subcategory, and type. For more information, see Prediction Data Pane.
5. When finished, close the Prediction Parts Library file.
When you enter this part number in the Parts Table in the System file, the part data for this part is retrieved if the calculation model selected for the assembly is the same as that for the Prediction Parts Library file. Once this data is copied into the System file, it may be necessary to modify it to better reflect the operation of this part in that particular system. For more information, see Viewing and Modifying the Data for a Part in a Prediction Parts Library File.
