A search for an exact part number match is performed only when Exact Part Number Search is selected for Search method under Parts Library Search in the Options window. If Alternate part number search is also selected (default), Alternate Part Number is also searched for an exact part number match. For more information, see Parts Library Search User Options.

If an exact match is found, data for this part is retrieved and shown in part-related panes. If an exact match is not found, the cursor moves to the next field in the Parts Table so that you can manually enter part data in it and other part-related panes.
