Entering FIDES Connectors
The following table describes the part parameters required for connectors when a FIDES model is selected for the calculation. FIDES models support four connector subcategories:
Coaxial
Component Support
PCD and Equivalent
Round and Rectangular

For more information, see FIDES Standard Part Parameters.
Mount Type
Choice List [Parts Count and Families Count also]
The way in which the device is mounted. Choices are:
Insertion
Solder - SMD
Solder - Through Hole
Wrapping - Braid
Wrapping - Wire
# of Contacts
Integer [Parts Count and Families Count also]
The number of conductive elements in the connector that mate with other elements for the purpose of transferring electrical energy.
# of Cycles (per year)
Integer
The number of cycles per year, where each cycle consists of one connection plus one disconnection.
Gauge
Choice List
The measurement of the device. Many choices are available, ranging from 12 to 32 gauge.
Amps/Contact
Real (A)
The average current across a contact in amperes.
Temperature Rise
Real (Degrees C)
The rise in temperature between the operating temperature and the case. If you complete Gauge and Amps/Contact, this value is calculated. If you enter a value for this parameter, this value is added to the operating temperature.
