Updating an Event with Library Event Properties from the Library Browse Window
Using the Library Browse window, you can update a System file event with the properties for a library event. Performing this procedure copies the properties for the selected library event to the System file event.
1. In the System file, select the event to update in either the FTA Table or the diagram.
2. Select FTA > Browse Libraries. The auto-hide Library Browse window opens in the pinned mode.
For more information about this auto-hide window, see Library Browse Window.
3. In its Search pane, do the following:
a. For Search for, select FTA Events.
b. Supply the search criteria to use. For more information, see FTA Events Search Criteria.
If you do not enter any search criteria, when you initiate the search, all events in enabled FTA Event Library files are retrieved and shown in the Results pane.
c. To initiate the search, click Search or press Enter.
Search Button
Enabled FTA Event Library files are searched and event matches are shown in the Results pane.
4. In its Results pane, do the following:
a. Select the row containing the event to use in the update.
b. In the Results pane, click Update.
This button is unavailable if the active event in the System file is a repeated event or is linked to another system tree item. You cannot perform updates on repeated or linked events.
Some updates are not allowed. If the update attempt is invalid, a window opens, displaying a warning that explains why the update cannot be performed. For example, the input to a spares gate must always be a spares event. If the library event you have selected is not a spares event, the warning explains why this update attempt is invalid.
When the update attempt is valid, the properties for the library event are copied to the System file event. During this process, the Library Events page in the event’s Properties window is updated. Library identifier displays the identifier for the library event. Library of retrieval displays the FTA Event Library file in which this library event is stored. These fields provide for keeping the properties for the System file event synchronized with the properties for the specified library event.
The Library Browse window remains open in case you want to insert or update additional events.
5. When you are finished inserting or updating events, close the Library Browse window.
