As described in SAE ARP4754A and ARP4761 Fault Trees, SAE ARP4754A and ARP4761 provide guidelines and methods for conducting safety assessments on airborne systems and equipment. For such analyses, you can perform the same basic procedure described in the previous topic, except you would select SAE ARP4754A and ARP4761 as the FTA calculation type.

However, the best practice for performing this type of analysis is to use the New Project Wizard to create an SAE Project from the supplied FTA Civil Aerospace Template. This sets up the Project so that SAE ARP4754A and ARP4761 is the default FTA calculation type for all System files in the Project. It also sets up the FTA tables in the System files to contain SAE-specific fields.
