RPN Improvement Percentage
RPN Improvement Percentage is a result field indicating the percentage of improvement between the original RPN (before any corrective action has been taken) and the RPN Result (after a corrective actions has been taken).
This value is automatically computed for a failure mode after calculating its RPN Result. For more information, RPN Result. The RPN Improvement Percentage is also calculated for all failure modes when you run FMEA calculations.
The built-in equation for calculating RPN Improvement Percentage is:
It is possible for an RPN Improvement Percentage value to be negative. This occurs if the value for RPN Result is larger than the RPN. A negative value indicates that any corrective actions taken to reduce the RPN did not result in a lower RPN Result value. In other words, the corrective actions resulted in “negative” improvement.
