An RPN (risk priority number) reveals the overall risk of a particular failure mode occurring in your system. The larger the RPN, the more critical the failure mode. Reports can sort RPNs from high to low values. The FMEA module supports the following RPN calculations:

All three RPN results are automatically calculated as you enter the necessary data for a failure mode in the FMEA Worksheet table. They are then calculated again for every failure mode in the FMEA Worksheet table when FMEA results are calculated.
