Inserting an Item
An item is a functional description of the part or assembly selected in the FMEA Tree Items table. When you insert an item in the FMEA Worksheet table, a mode and all other child data levels specified in the FMEA Design file are also inserted.
*
If you indicated that failure modes are to be inserted into a component FMEA from enabled FMEA Modes Library files, when a part is inserted in the FMEA Tree Items table, the item and failure modes associated with this part are inserted in the FMEA Worksheet table. However, as your analysis progresses to higher levels in the FMEA tree, you must manually insert items and failure modes for assemblies in the FMEA Worksheet table.
1. In the FMEA Tree Items table, select the assembly or part for which to insert an item.
2. In the FMEA Worksheet table, insert an item using one of the following methods:
Select Insert > Item.
Right-click in any empty are of the table and select Insert Item.
In the title bar of the FMEA Worksheet table, or on the Insert FMEA Items toolbar, click the button for inserting an item.
The item is inserted along with all child data items specified by the Project’s FMEA Design file.
3. Complete the fields for the item as well as the fields for its child data levels.
4. To insert an additional mode, see Inserting a Mode.
