Inserting a Mode
The initial failure mode for an item is inserted along with the item itself. However, you can insert any number of additional modes for any item.
1. In the FMEA Worksheet table, select the item for which to insert an additional mode.
2. Insert a mode using one of the following methods:
◦ Select > .
◦ Right-click the item in the FMEA Worksheet table and select Insert Mode.
◦ In the title bar of the FMEA Worksheet table, or on the Insert FMEA Items toolbar, click the button for inserting a new mode.
The mode is inserted along with all child data levels specified by the Project’s FMEA Design file.
3. Complete the fields for the mode as well as the fields for any child data levels inserted along with it.
If causes, effects, and/or actions are child data levels, you can now insert additional occurrences.
