How to Override the Risk Matrix Settings for a Specific FMEA
In a System file, you can override the risk matrix settings for a specific FMEA.
1. In the FMEA Table, select the record for the FMEA.
2. Select FMEA > Risk Matrix Settings. The Risk Matrix Settings window opens, displaying a table with two rows.
These rows define the initial and resulting risk matrix definitions for the active FMEA.
The Default column, which is display-only, shows the definitions selected for this FMEA type in the Project’s FMEA Risk Matrix file. For example, if the active FMEA is a process FMEA, then it shows selections for the initial and resulting definitions for a process FMEA.
Initially, the default for the third column, Override, is < Use Default > for both rows.
3. In the Override column, select the definitions you want to use for the initial and resulting risk matrices for this FMEA.
To do this, click in the column three times. The first click makes the cell active. The second click displays the selection control. The third click displays the list from which you can make a selection.
If you select < No Risk Matrix >, this means that when FMEA calculations run, no risk levels are calculated, and no risk matrices are generated.
4. When finished, click OK. A window opens, indicating that to update the risk levels to use the new settings, you must recalculate.
5. Click OK.
Once you run FMEA calculations, you can generate FMEA graphs and reports to analyze criticality and risk.
