Generating a FMEA Data Value Per Record Graph
When Value stored in a data field for each record is selected on the FMEA Graph Type page of the Graph Wizard, you can graph the values stored in a data field for each table record. You select the data field for which to graph values and then indicate the field to use for displaying the x-axis labels for the graph.
1. Start the Graph Wizard and complete the first few pages as described in Generating a Custom FMEA Graph.
2. On the FMEA Graph Type page, select Value stored in a data field for each record and click Next. The Select Value Field page appears.
3. Complete the Select Value Field page:
a. For Table type, select the table with the data field you want to graph. Supported table types depend on the tables turned on in the Project properties.
b. For Data field, select the field with the values you want to graph.
c. Click Next. The Select Value Records page appears.
4. Select the option for indicating the records with the values you want to graph:
Display the value for all records. When selected (default), the values for all records are graphed.
Only display the value for the records matching this filter. When selected, only the values for the records that meet the filter you select in the field below this option are graphed. The filter choices available depend on the table type.
5. If you want data for only the selected item and its child records included in the graph, select the Current branch checkbox.
6. Click Next. The Change Label Field page appears so that you can indicate if a field other than the default is to be used for displaying x-axis labels. Data field displays the default for the selected table.
For the FMEA Worksheet table, the default is the identifier for the FMEA level of the value that is being graphed. For example, for a mode level field, the default is Mode Identifier.
For all other FMEA tables, the default is the identifier for the table.
7. To use the default field, click Next. Otherwise, to use a different field, do the following:
a. Select Change the field used to display the labels on the x-axis.
b. For Data field, select the field to use for the labels.
If the values in this field are not unique for all values being graphed, the value is shown only once. The resulting graph does not indicate the record to which this value corresponds. Therefore, to generate a meaningful graph, select a field with unique values over the range of records that is being graphed.
c. Click Next. The Graph Options page appears so that you can specify how the graph is to look.
8. Complete the Graph Options page and the remaining pages to generate the graph. For more information, see Specifying Graph Options.
Once the wizard closes, the Select FMEA window opens if more than one FMEA exists in the System file.
9. If the Select FMEA window opens, select the appropriate FMEA and click OK to generate the graph.
In the graph, data points are sorted alphabetically by the values displayed for the x-axis.
