Viewing Audit Trail History (Enterprise Edition Only)
The Enterprise Edition provides full audit support for modifications made to primary tables in the System file. For more information, see Audit Trails (Enterprise Edition Only).
When working in an Enterprise Project, you can view the changes made to one or more fields for the record currently selected in a table or on a form. However, the Audit Trail History commands for doing this are available only if General > Enable Audit Trail has been selected in the Project properties. For more information, see General Project Properties.
1. In the System file, select the record in the table or on the form. To view audit trail information for a particular field, also select the field.
2. Select View > Audit Trail History and the appropriate submenu command:
Selected Field. When selected, changes to only the current field are shown.
All Fields on Table. When selected, changes to all displayed fields are shown. Displayed fields are those selected for the table in the Format Builder.
All Fields. When selected, changes to all displayed and undisplayed fields are shown. Undisplayed fields that you might see include Last Edited Date, Last Edited By, Group, and User.
The Audit Trail History window opens, displaying the identifier for the selected record in the upper right corner. In the table, changes to the selected field, all displayed fields, or all displayed and undisplayed fields are shown, depending on the submenu command that was selected.
For each change, the table shows the user name of the person who made the change, the audit action, the name of the field that was modified, the value prior to this modification (if a prior value existed), the value after the modification, the date and time of the modification, and for an Attachments field only, the IP (Internet Protocol) address for the computer from which the attachment change was made. You can click Print to print this information or Copy Data to copy it to the Windows Clipboard.
