Viewing All Records Associated with a Problem
You can view all records associated with a problem in the Associated Records window. To open this window, you use the special Associated Records field, which displays a count of the number of records with which the problem is associated. If this field is not already present in the Problems table, you can use the Format Builder to insert it.
1. In the Problems table, click the Associated Records field for the problem. A browse button becomes visible, and the Associated Records window opens.
If the problem is associated with records in multiple tables, a navigation pane appears on the left side of the Associated Records window. You can select the page with the record associations that you want to see. Depending on the associations that have been created, you might see some or all of the following pages: Actions, FMEA Tree Items, FRACAS Incidents, FTA Gates and Events, RBD Blocks, RBD Diagrams, and System Tree Items.
A number in parentheses follows each page name. It indicates the number of existing associations of this type.
2. View the records associated with the problem.
On the page for an association type, the table provides descriptive information about the records with which the problem is associated.
Beneath the table, the display-only Associated by and Associated date fields show the name of the user who created the association and the date and time when it was created.
3. For Details, enter additional information if desired.
4. When finished viewing associated records for the problem, do one of the following:
To return to the active problem in the Problems table, click Close.
To go to a specific associated record, select the record and then click Go to Selected Record in the lower right corner of the window.

When the FMEA Tree Items page is present, it contains associations from all three FMEA types: component, process, and functional. Associations from process and functional FMEAs show up only on the FMEA Tree Items page. Associations from component FMEAs show up on both the System Tree Items page and the FMEA Tree Items page. This is a result of the intrinsic tie a component FMEA has to a system tree. Because these associations are included in two different tables, the sum of all associations on each page can be greater than the total number of associations.
If a module for an association type is turned off, the Associated Records window still displays a page for viewing associated records. However, on this page, a message indicates that you must enable the module to view the details for the associated records.
