Using Start Pages in the Enterprise Edition
Guidelines for using Start pages in the Enterprise Edition follow.
If you have the proper permissions, you can insert any number of custom pages in the Start Page window for your personal use.
When multiple pages are present in the Start Page window, in the upper left corner, you click the tab for a page to make it active. The Enterprise Edition remembers the last page selected so that it is active the next time that the Start Page window is shown.
If your system administrator has assigned a global page to your user group, it is the first page listed. Otherwise, a default page is first. The default page is merely a personal page you can either use as is or customize.
For any control, you perform actions using the commands on its Options menu, which is on the right side of the title bar. If a command is unavailable, either the action is currently invalid or you do not have the proper permissions.

The only way you will not see any pages in the Start Page window is if no global page is assigned to your group and you do not have the permissions necessary to create and customize personal pages. In this case, the area below the banner image will be blank.
When you create personal pages, you can insert not only the controls that appear on the supplied default page but also many others. For example, you can insert controls for displaying graphs, reports, tables, and rich text, all of which you can also insert on dashboards. While dashboards are similar to personal Start pages, they are global pages. This means that if you have permissions for dashboards, you can see all dashboards. Comprehensive information about creating both personal Start pages and global dashboards appears in Custom Start Pages and Dashboards (Enterprise Edition Only).
