Using a ‘Select’ Command to Select or Find a Record
When certain tables are active, you can use a Select command to select or find a record in the following tables: System Tree Items, Configurations, FRACAS Incidents, or Problems. For more information, see Select Commands.
*
The command names below assume that the default table names are in use. In the Table Settings pane in the Project Properties window, you can assign custom names to tables and subtables. Select commands always use the singular names specified for these tables. For more information, see Specifying Table Settings.
1. Select Filter and then one of the following commands to open the window for making a record selection:
Select System Tree Item
Select Configuration.
Select FRACAS Incident.
Select Problem.
In the window that opens, the default is the display field for the active record in the table.
2. Search for or select a particular record.
To search for a particular record, type the value to find directly in the selection box and click OK.
While an exact search is performed, the search is not case-sensitive. For example, if the part number is CLKS04, you can type CLKS04 or clks04 in the Select System Tree Item window to find this part.
If only one occurrence is found, the record is selected. If multiple occurrences are found, a Select window opens, listing all matching records. For more information, see Select Window with Multiple Matches.
If no occurrence is found, a window opens, indicating this. Once you click OK, you can enter a new search value.
To select a record, do the following:
1. Click the drop-down control to the right of the field. A window opens with an hierarchical tree structure which you can expand and collapse.
2. Locate and click the desired record. You return to the original window, where your selection is shown.
3. Click OK. You return to the table in the System file.
