Updating Data for Selected Windchill Parts
When a System file contains Windchill parts, you can retrieve the latest data for these parts from the Windchill product.
1. In the System Tree Items table, select the rows for the Windchill parts to update.
If you do not select multiple rows, only the active Windchill part is updated. No records are added or removed when a single Windchill part is updated.
2. Select Windchill > Update Selected Records. If this command is unavailable, your selection does not include a Windchill part.
3. If the Windchill Login window appears, supply your Windchill user name and password and click Log in.
The expansion criteria is used to retrieve the latest Windchill part information for the selected records, which is then copied into the System Tree Items table.
A window opens, indicating progress. Another window opens once the records are synchronized successfully.
4. Click OK, which closes both windows.
Any records that are updated are highlighted in the same manner as when a synchronization is performed. For more information, see Setting and Clearing Highlighting for Changed Windchill Parts.
If a Windchill part is no longer found in the BOM, it becomes a Windchill Risk and Reliability part. This means that the part is no longer connected to the Windchill BOM. To indicate this, the previous Windchill part icon Windchill Part Icon is replaced with a Windchill Risk and Reliability part icon .Windchill Risk and Reliability Part Icon.
