Setting and Clearing Highlighting for Changed Windchill Parts
During an update or synchronization of the System Tree Items table or FMEA Tree Items table with the BOM (bill of materials) for a Windchill PDMLink/Windchill MPMLink product, records that have changed are highlighted in green by default. If desired, you can set a different color for Display Windchill highlight color in the Options window.
When you perform a synchronization, Highlight all parts that have changed since the last sync is selected by default in the wizard so that added or modified records are highlighted. However, if you do not want these changed records to be highlighted, you can clear this checkbox. Additionally, you can indicate whether you want to clear or keep any old highlighting that remains from the previous synchronization.
Changed records are highlighted in the System Tree Items table and FMEA Tree Items tables but not in the Parts Table or on any forms. The highlighting color for changed records overrides all other row colors, including those used to indicate assemblies, parts, tagged items, and overstressed or unsupported parts.
Additionally, the highlighting color for changed records overrides the gray used to indicate display-only fields. This is because it is possible for all items in the system tree to be Windchill parts. In this case, all fields would be display-only, which would make them all gray. Displaying these fields in the highlighting color to show that they have changed takes precedence over other color attributes that they might be assigned.
You can manually clear the highlighting from changed parts by selecting the appropriate command from the Windchill menu when the System Tree Items table is active. When either the System Tree Items or FMEA Tree Items table is active, these same commands, which are described below, also appear on the shortcut menu:
Clear Highlight for Selected Records–When selected, the highlighting is removed from the selected records.
Clear Highlight for All Records–When selected, the highlighting is removed from all records.
