Specifying Object Insertion Behavior
The Options window provides two Create one object at a time checkboxes for specifying objection insertion behavior. The first, under the Diagrams heading, is cleared by default. It controls insertion behavior for gates and events in the FTA module, states in the Markov module, and blocks and junctions in the RBD module. The second of these checkboxes, under the Report and Form Designers heading, is selected by default. It controls insertion behavior for lines and boxes in Report and Form Design files.
1. To open the Options window, select Tools > Options.
For general information about the Options window, see User Options.
2. Under Diagrams and under Report and Form Designers, clear or select Create one object at a time to specify the desired insertion behavior.
When the checkbox is cleared, after you insert an object, you remain in insert mode, which means that you can insert additional objects of the same style with a click of the left mouse button. To exit this mode and return to select mode, you click the right mouse button or press Esc.
When the checkbox is selected, after you insert an object, you return to select mode.
3. Under Diagrams, clear or select Show properties after create to specify whether you want to immediately open the Properties window for a newly inserted diagram object when inserting only one object at a time.
Show properties after create has no effect when Create one object at a time is cleared (default). When both checkboxes are selected, the Properties window opens for the diagram object immediately after its insertion. You can complete its many pages and click OK. Or, you can click Cancel. To view or modify properties later, you double-click the object to open the Properties window.
4. When finished, close the Options window by clicking the X in the upper right corner.
