Description

Select X records where
The filter criteria to apply to a child table to limit records in X, where X is the singular name for the parent table. For example, if System Tree Items is the parent table, by default, the label is Select System Tree Item records where. In the field below this label, you select the aggregate function for selecting child records. Supported functions limit records shown in the parent table based on a count of the number of matching child records or the maximum, minimum, sum, or average value for a specified field for matching child records.
[Child table]
The child table containing the field with the values by which to select records. All supported tables that are turned on in the Table Settings pane in the Project properties are available for selection.
[Child field]
The child field on which to perform the aggregate function.
That match the filter
For The number of records in the table function only, the filter to apply to the child table to limit the records that count as matching.
For records that match the filter
For all but The number of records in the table function, the filter to apply to the child table to limit the records for which to evaluate the aggregate function.
[Condition for the field]
The condition or logical operator to use in the selection criterion. The conditions available in the list depend on the field selected. For more information, see Valid Conditions for Each Field Type.
[Fixed value or parameter]
Indicates whether the field value is a fixed value or a parameter supplied at the time the filter is applied. Choices are:
• Use a fixed value (specify the value below). When selected (default), the value by which to select records is specified for Value. This field is shown only if this choice is selected. If the condition you have selected requires multiple values, such as a lower value and an upper value, labels indicate the type of values to enter. Depending on the field type, a selection control might be available. For example, if the field is a date, the calendar control is available. If the field is attached to a list, a browse button is available. Clicking it would open a window in which you select the list values to include in the filter criterion. For more information, see Selection Window for List Values.
• Use a parameter (you will specify the value when the filter is applied). Generating what is known as a parameterized query, this choice provides greater flexibility because you can change the criterion at run time. For more information, see Supplying Parameter Values at Run Time.
