Supplying Parameter Values at Run Time
A parameterized query asks you for filter criteria values at run time. If you apply a parameterized query, the Select Filter window opens so that you can supply the desired parameter values. The display-only text under Filter conditions provides the English equivalent of each criterion on a separate line. For each parameter, you enter a value or use the control provided to select one. If ordering criteria have been specified, they appear after selection criteria.
1. For each parameter, enter a value or use the control provided to select a value. Examples for various controls follow.
If the parameter is for a date field, use the calendar control to select the date.
If the parameter is for a yes/no field, depending on its display format, either select or clear the checkbox or use the drop-down control to select from Boolean logic choices.
If the parameter is for a text field with a list attached, click the browse button to open the selection window and select the checkboxes for the values to include in the filter criterion. For more information, see Selection Window for List Values.
2. Once you have supplied values for all parameters, click OK.
Records that match the criteria are shown in the table. If no matches are found, the No Matches window opens by default. For more information, see Responding to the No Matches Window.
