Find and Replace Window
The Find and Replace window opens when you select Edit > Find and Replace > Find. You can also open it by clicking Find on the standard toolbar.
Find Button
This window provides Find and Replace tabs for specifying criteria. This window follows the context of the active table or form in the Project. The title bar indicates the active table. This is the case even when a form is active because a form is associated with a specific table type. Look In indicates the field currently selected in the active table or form. When a search is underway, a progress control is shown in the status bar to reflect the status of the current search.
When a match is found, the table cell or form control meeting the specified search criteria is highlighted to draw attention to it. If the Find and Replace window covers this cell or control when it is in the floating mode, it is relocated so that the cell or control is visible. All search options specified in the Find and Replace window are saved as the defaults for the next time this window opens. For more information, see:
While the Find and Replace window is initially a floating window, you can dock or attach it to a border of the application window. This makes it an auto-hide window for the rest of your session. For more information, see Docking a Floating Auto-Hide Window.
