Escalating a FRACAS Incident or FMEA Action to Create a Problem
While you can create a problem in the Problems table by inserting a record, you can also create a problem by escalating a FRACAS incident or FMEA action. The escalated incident or action is automatically associated with the newly created problem. An incident or action can be associated with only one problem.
1. Select the incident or action you want to escalate to create a problem.
2. Depending on what is selected, do one of the following:
Select Edit > Escalate FRACAS Incident or Edit > Escalate Action.
Right-click the record and select Escalate FRACAS Incident or Escalate Action.

If a custom singular table name is assigned to the FRACAS Incidents table or a custom label is assigned to the FMEA action data level, the custom name is used in the menu command. If the incident or action is already associated with a problem, these commands are unavailable because an incident or action can be associated with only one problem.
After a new record is inserted in the Problems table, the data in any shared fields for the incident or action is copied into the newly created problem, and this incident or action is associated with the problem.
In the table, a problem icon is shown in the row header for the record to indicate that it is associated with a problem.

If you select multiple incidents for escalation, a window opens for selecting the one from which to copy shared data into the new problem. After you select the incident from which to copy data, you click OK to close the window. Because the FMEA Worksheet does not support multiple selections, you can only select one action at a time for escalation.
