Edit Running Total Window
The Edit Running Total window provides for inserting and modifying running totals as described in Running Total How-Tos. If no grouping criteria have been specified for the Report Design file, the last two options are not available. For information about sorting and grouping, see Viewing and Modifying Sorting and Grouping Criteria. The following table describes the options in the Running Totals window.

Description
Running total name
The unique and descriptive name assigned to the running total.
Field to total
The table and data field for which to calculate a running total. In the first field, you select the table from which to select a field. In the second field, you select the field. Choices include all numeric, currency, and yes/no fields. For more information, see Data Field Types.
Reset total when group changes
Indicates whether the running total is reset to 0 when the data group changes. This checkbox is only available if grouping criteria has been defined. Selecting this checkbox makes Group name available.
Group name
The field that is to reset the running total to 0. This field selected here is placed in a Group Header. An integer is assigned to this Group Header and stored for the Group parameter. This allows you to select the Group Header to use to reset the running total.
